About Château Val Joanis
Château Val Joanis traces its estate to 1467 on the plain south of the Luberon at Pertuis, and the Roozen family have owned it since 2011. The draw beyond the wine is the garden, three terraces of vegetables, roses and fruit trees begun in 1978 by Tobie Loup de Viane and classified as a Jardin Remarquable since 2005.
The shop pours free tastings without reservation, six days a week in summer and Tuesday to Saturday in the shoulder months, closing for the winter except for click-and-collect; groups of eight or more should book. The garden costs 3 EUR and is free for under-16s.
