Andrea Lemieux is a wine writer, educator, and specialist in Turkish wine. Based in Istanbul, she is the creator of The Quirky Cork, a platform dedicated to exploring wines from lesser-known regions and grape varieties. Her journey into wine began after moving to Turkey in 2013. What started as curiosity quickly grew into a deep focus on the country’s historic yet under-recognized wine culture. Over more than a decade, Andrea has explored Turkish vineyards, studied the country’s native grapes, and become a prominent advocate for its wines. Andrea holds WSET Level 2 and Italian Wine Scholar certifications and is the author of The Essential Guide to Turkish Wine (ed 2 out now), the first book devoted entirely to the country’s modern wine industry, and The Quick and Dirty Guide to Greek Wine. In addition to writing, Andrea hosts wine tastings in Istanbul, collaborates with wine tour companies on guided experiences, and consults with importers interested in introducing Turkish wines to international markets.
