Wines
Tasted: 472, but that was as of Tuesday - Accolades: I used to write haiku wine reviews on Instagram, and they got a lot of likes. It's harder than you think.

Favourite Grape
Varieties: Gruner Veltliner, Albarino, Lambrusco. Right Bank Bordeaux (I know that's not a grape, but I didn't want to say Merlot because you might think less of me). Verdejo is growing on me. I like those crazy red blends from Paso Robles. -
Top Wine
Travel Tip: Never use the spit bucket. -
Bucketlist
Goal : New Zealand. I know the smart set thinks the Sauvignon Blancs are too showy and overproduced and all that, but I just want to get to New Zealand. And hey, I love a good New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. That fruit rises right out of the glass, you can almost see it!

A reformed cocktail geek, he's two years into the adventure of learning wine. Once, when he hit a wall trying to learn how to taste wine, he asked his wife, a clinical psychologist who uses hypnosis in her practice, to hypnotize him while he tasted. It changed the way he thinks about wine. He wrote about that for the Washington Post.
