Graham’s has always been a pioneer. Graham's was one of the first Port companies to invest in its own vineyards in Portugal’s Douro Valley in 1890 and is now at the cutting edge of innovation in winemaking techniques. The building currently houses over 2,000 pipes (oak casks) and 40 tonels and balseiros (large oak vats) for aging Port wine, as well as extensive cellars of Vintage Port, aging in bottle.
The grapes that are used to make Port must be grown in the mountainous Upper Douro region of Northern Portugal, the world’s first officially demarcated wine region in 1756. This protected region is the only place in the world that can produce authentic Port.
In addition to special tastings and tour options (by appointment only), Graham's also owns and operates VINUM Restaurant & Wine Bar. The glass atrium has one of the very best views of any restaurant in Gaia and Porto: spectacular both during the day and the night, when all the medieval landmarks are beautifully floodlit. There is also an open-air terrace, ideal for enjoying Porto’s year-round sunshine with a glass of chilled white wine, or perhaps a lightly chilled Old Tawny Port.
