Derby Wine Estate is a family owned winery growing 25 varietals of grapes in 3 distinct geographical regions of SLO county. We have a Tasting Room in the historic Almond Growers Building at 525 Riverside Ave in Paso Robles, open 11am to 5pm daily.
Three Vineyards. One Simple Mission. Make Great Wines… Without Pretense. With three different geographically located vineyards spanning the diverse Paso Robles terroir, Derby Wine Estates produces small lot, hand crafted wines. With their first purchase of Derbyshire Vineyard in San Simeon, Ray and Pam Derby shifted their plans of retirement into plans of entering the wine world. Derby Vineyard in the Templeton Gap and Laura’s Vineyard on the 46E were soon to follow. After experiencing nearly a decade as grape growers, the potential strengths of each property became apparent, and in 2008, Ray and Pam launched Derby Wine Estates.
Careful selection and attention to detail is now exemplified in every wine, in the rejuvenation of the old Almond Grower’s Association building into the Derby Wine Estates tasting room, and in each employee who represents the company. Derby Wines Estates truly encompasses the rich history that is Paso Robles. We are open seven days a week, from 11am to 5pm in the winter, and until 6pm in the summer.
