Toured Marchesi Antinori, is the flagship worth it?
Did the Antinori nel Chianti Classico estate, the architecture alone is a destination, that spiral into the hillside is unreal. The tasting was polished and the wines obviously serious.
Honest take: it's a bucket-list visit, but it's a big-production experience, beautiful, a little formal, not the barefoot-in-the-cellar kind of day. I'd pair it with a tiny producer the same trip for balance.
If you've been: worth building a half-day around, or better as one stop among several? And what small estate would you pair it with?
Went last spring, agree it's a bucket-list building more than a barefoot-in-the-cellar day. We paired it with a tiny Radda producer the next morning and the contrast made the whole trip.
