About this winery

Attila Gere is widely considered the father of modern winemaking in Villány, the region responsible for Hungary's most serious red wines. Since the 1990s he has quietly built one of the country's finest estates, producing structured Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Portugieser that rival wines from warmer parts of Europe at a fraction of the price. The winery and tasting room sit among the distinctive white-painted cellar buildings of Villány village, with ancient barrel rooms extending deep underground. An essential stop on any Hungarian wine tour.
