About this winery

Located at the top of Los Gatos Creek Canyon, Wrights Station gained prominence in 1877 when the 1.2 mile summit tunnel was constructed at this now-remote place.

Today, the vineyard sits at 1,800 feet along the summit of the Santa Cruz Mountains, above the fog, but still tightly connected to the maritime influence of the Pacific, just over ten miles away. The soils are composed of a complex mix of sand, clay, and slate, undoubtedly influenced by the shifting earth caused by the San Andreas Fault, which is (almost literally) a stone's throw away.

Originally planted in 1981, the vineyard's Chardonnay is some of the oldest in the region. Pinot Noir was added in 2000. These two varietals flourish in the unique terroir at Wrights Station.

The original 1947 farmhouse was remodeled into an elegantly appointed tasting room. As you enter you are invited to feel at home; relax in the living room, lounge on the enclosed porch, or utilize the dining room for an intimate winemaker dinner or corporate meeting. Of course if it's wine you are interested in, stroll up to the tasting bar fashioned from reclaimed barn wood, and sample a selection of handcrafted estate and other wines sourced from local vineyards. Enjoy the spectacular views of the vineyard below, with the ridges of the Santa Cruz Mountains in the distance.
