Marseille

Marseille is France's oldest wine city — the Greeks who founded Massalia 2,600 years ago planted the first vines. Today the draw is what surrounds it: the white wines of Cassis, terraced above the calanques just east of the city, and the reds and rosés of Bandol a little further along the coast.
