About Brassfield Estate Winery

Brassfield Estate is the showpiece winery of Lake County's High Valley, a volcanic bowl at 1,700 to 3,000 feet on the north-east side of Clear Lake that became its own appellation in 2005. The estate farms vineyards across the valley floor and the slopes below Round Mountain, an extinct volcano, and the Mediterranean-style winery and gardens were built to match the setting.

The wines span crisp Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon from the estate's own fruit, and the combination of scale, views and a warm welcome has made it the winery visitors talk about most in the county.

Visiting

Brassfield is roughly two and a half hours from San Francisco, north of Clearlake Oaks on High Valley Road, and is best combined with an overnight in Lake County. Tastings are offered daily; check hours in winter.
