About Brooks Wine

Jimi Brooks founded this Eola-Amity Hills estate in 1998; when he died in 2004 his eight-year-old son Pascal inherited it and his sister Janie Brooks Heuck has run it since. Demeter-certified biodynamic since 2012 and a certified B Corp, Brooks is the valley's Riesling specialist, pouring dry and off-dry versions alongside Pinot Noir from a deck with a 180-degree view. A monthly pairing menu uses the two-acre estate garden. Open daily 11 to 5; reservations recommended with a $40 fee refunded at the visit; no dogs.

Visitors single out 180-degree deck view, riesling done dry, garden-to-table food. The wines to look for are Riesling, Pinot Noir. The estate dates from 1998.

Visiting

Book ahead. About an hour from downtown Portland via 99W or I-5 to Salem, and roughly 30 minutes from Salem; the hills sit between Amity and West Salem.
