About Leoness Cellars

Founded in 2002 by Gary Winder, who has farmed Temecula since 1972, and Mike Rennie, with a 20-acre estate Cabernet block planted in 1999 and rolling vineyard views from the terrace. The Restaurant at Leoness won the USA Today 10Best Readers' Choice award for best winery restaurant in 2025; tastings, vineyard tours and the restaurant are all booked online.

Visitors single out terrace vineyard views, award-winning winery restaurant, vineyard tours. The wines to look for are Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Viognier, Cabernet Franc, Merlot. The estate dates from 2002.

Visiting

Book ahead. About an hour and a half to two hours south-east of Downtown LA via the 5 and 15; roughly an hour and 15 minutes from Irvine, and the Rancho California Road wineries sit a few minutes apart once you arrive.
