About Bodegas Gómez Cruzado
Founded in 1886 and the smallest house in Haro's Barrio de la Estacion, a few steps from Muga, Roda and Lopez de Heredia, which makes it the natural add-on to a no-car day by Alavabus. Old bush-trained vines in Rioja Alta and Alavesa go into wines that aim for finesse over power, from a white through Crianza and Reserva to the Vina Motulleri Gran Reserva. Tastings come with cheese, bread and olive oil, and visitors call it the best value in the quarter.
Visitors single out boutique station-quarter cellar, best-value tasting, old bush vines. The wines to look for are Tempranillo, Garnacha, Viura, Graciano. The estate dates from 1886.
