About Magalarte Lezama Txakolina
A family bodega in the Txorierri valley with more than 120 years of history, 20 minutes from downtown Bilbao. Visits come in three formats: a winery and vineyard walk, a horseback tour through the vines, and a vertical tasting. The range includes Ieup! on lees, a barrel-fermented Barrikan and Aitu, a red txakoli, and reviewers consistently mention four wines tasted with local chorizo, cheese and bread.

Book ahead. The Txorierri wineries (Lezama, Zamudio, Larrabetzu) are 15 to 20 minutes from downtown Bilbao and a few minutes from the airport; Bakio is about 35 to 40 minutes on the coast road and Gernika/Muxika about 40 to 45 minutes.
