About Champagne Boizel (Atelier 1834)

The family-owned house at number 46 on the Avenue de Champagne, whose Atelier 1834 visitor space is open seven days a week (10am to 6pm, until 7pm Friday and Saturday) with guided cellar tours, tasting workshops and a courtyard bar where you can buy tastings by the glass without a tour. The cellars display the family's private collection of old bottles. A practical anchor for an Avenue walk when the neighbouring anchors (Moet & Chandon, Perrier-Jouet, Mercier) are booked out.

Visitors single out open seven days, by-the-glass tastings, family bottle collection. The wines to look for are Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Meunier. The estate dates from 1834.

Visiting

Walk-ins most days; book on weekends. About 1 hour 40 minutes from central Paris to Epernay on the A4 and D3; Hautvillers and Ay are 10 minutes beyond Epernay, Passy-Grigny about 30 minutes west.
