About this winery

Based in the beautiful village of Spitz at the western end of the Wachau, Franz Hirtzberger runs one of the valley's most celebrated small estates. Now in its third generation under Franz Hirtzberger Junior, the winery farms 15 hectares of steep terraced vineyards producing Grüner Veltliner and Riesling of exceptional precision and elegance. The family also operates a charming Heuriger — a traditional Austrian wine tavern — in Spitz, making this one of the most complete and authentic wine tourism experiences in Lower Austria.
