About Malibu Wines & Beer Garden
The tasting garden for the Semler family's Saddlerock Ranch, an 1,100-acre property in the Santa Monica Mountains where the family began planting Cabernet Sauvignon in 1997 and now farms more than 70 acres of hillside vines across twelve varieties. Walk-ins are welcome, table reservations carry a 20 dollar per person deposit credited to your tab, wood-fired pizza runs Friday evenings and weekends, and you may bring your own food. Strictly 21 and over.
Visitors single out shaded garden tables, bring-your-own picnic, wood-fired pizza. The wines to look for are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc.
Visiting
Walk-ins most days; book on weekends. About an hour from Downtown LA via the 101 and Kanan Road to the Mulholland Highway wineries, 45 to 60 minutes from Santa Monica; canyon roads and PCH slow badly on summer weekends.
