Old North State Winery

This urban winery is located in an 1890s mercantile building in downtown Mount Airy and features outstanding wines as well as hand-crafted ales at the tasting bar.

Old North State produces a strong selection of wines under the following labels: 38 Vines, Old North State and Fish Hippie. The Fish Hippie wines are part of a lifestyle brand that includes a popular clothing line. An upscale deli menu is available for lunch and a tapas menu for dinner. The winery hosts live entertainment on a regular basis. It also serves the region's signature dessert — a cobbler-like confection called sonker — and is a member of the Surry Sonker Trail.
