About Casal Santa Maria
One of Europe's westernmost vineyards, planted on the dramatic slopes between the Atlantic and the Sintra hills. The tasting takes place inside the owner's own home, and the winery is dog-friendly, which several recent visitors called out.
Visitors single out owner-led tastings at home, dog-friendly, dramatic coastal vineyard views. The wines to look for are Ramisco.
Visiting
Reservation required. Colares is about 40 minutes west via Sintra, Bucelas about 30 minutes north, and Alenquer or Torres Vedras 45 minutes to an hour northwest, so this cluster is really three separate short trips rather than one loop.
