About Bodega Gorka Izagirre
Founded in 2005 and part of the Azurmendi complex on the hill above Larrabetzu, next to Eneko Atxa's three-Michelin-star restaurant. More than 40 hectares of its own vines across six Bizkaia municipalities feed a range that goes beyond classic txakoli: G22 on fine lees, Zura aged in barrel and Ilun, a red txakoli. The signature visit is the Hamaiketako, a traditional Basque mid-morning snack paired with the wines.
Visitors single out hamaiketako snack pairing, small-group tastings, red and barrel-aged txakoli. The wines to look for are Hondarrabi Zuri, Hondarrabi Beltza. The estate dates from 2005.
