About Boschendal
Founded in 1685 at the Franschhoek end of the Helshoogte Pass, Boschendal is the estate to bring children to: horse riding, mountain-bike trails, a Tree House play area for ages three to twelve, garden tours and Werf picnics on the lawns. Tastings at the Werf and Cellar Door; The Deli does farm breakfasts and lunches (the old Werf Restaurant has closed). On the Wine Tram's Orange and Green lines. Book ahead. About 1 hour from the Waterfront via the N1 and R45, or 1 hour 10 minutes over the Helshoogte Pass from Stellenbosch.
