About this winery

One of Austria's most historic wine estates, Schloss Gobelsburg has been producing wine since 1171 when Cistercian monks from the nearby Zwettl Abbey established the property. Today, under the stewardship of Michael Moosbrugger, the estate is celebrated for wines of remarkable consistency and depth — particularly the Grüner Veltliner Steinsetz and the flagship Reserve series. The baroque castle and historic cellar make this one of the most atmospheric wine venues in the country, and visits often include access to cellars dating back many centuries.
