About Steenberg Vineyards

The Cape's first registered farm, granted to Catharina Ras in 1682, three years before Groot Constantia, and today the sparkling specialist of the valley with a dedicated 60-minute Cap Classique tasting alongside its Sauvignon Blanc flight. The tasting room has the best views on the farm, Edoardo Villa sculptures on the grounds, and Bistro Sixteen82 and Tryn for lunch; the five-star hotel and golf course make it a stay-put base too.

Visitors single out cap classique flight, sculpture walk, bistro sixteen82 lunch. The wines to look for are Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay. The estate dates from 1682.

Visiting

Book ahead. About 25 minutes from the V&A Waterfront on the M3; the estates sit within the city limits on the back of Table Mountain.
