About this winery

Contadi Castaldi wineries can be found within the stunning confines of Franciacorta (Province of Brescia), Italy. One of the most under-rated Sparkling Wine production regions in the world, utilizing the same method of production that is used in Champagne.

Contadi Castaldi's Franciacorta wines are true blends of wines of different origins that contribute their own uniqueness and express themselves in the cuvees through their complete and complex balance, achieving perfect harmony over time.

We are located in the Adro, in the Franciacorta region. The name of this small village has several etymological roots. Most notably, a bright, serene and warm place, full of sunshine. Another derivation is "Adrusco," which in an ancient Mediterranean language translates into "land full of vineyards."

Fun Fact: In Medieval times the "contadi" were the counties of Franciacorta, small areas of land known for their outstanding argricultural products, and the "castaldi" were the lords of the counties responsible for governing the lands.

Thus, the name "Contadi Castaldi" summarizes the ancient history of Franciacorta.
