About Casa Ermelinda Freitas
Founded in 1920 by Deonilde Freitas, one of the few women to start a winery in Portugal at the time, and now run by the fourth generation of the same family across 550 hectares. The estate makes a well-regarded Moscatel de Setúbal from 20-year-old vines alongside its table wines.
Visitors single out family story and history, generous tastings, weekday visits see the winery working. The wines to look for are Moscatel de Setúbal. The estate dates from 1920.
