Edlmoser is a family vineyard and Heuriger in Mauer, on the southern edge of Vienna, with a historic house and cellar and its own wines including Rotgipfler, a grape rarely seen outside Austria. Reviewers rate it among the highest-scoring Heurigen in the city.
Visitors single out rotgipfler, historic cellar, owner on site. The wines to look for are Wiener Gemischter Satz, Gruner Veltliner, Rotgipfler.
Visiting
Book ahead. 15 to 25 minutes from the center by car, tram or bus, since these estates sit inside Vienna's own city limits in Grinzing, Nussdorf, Stammersdorf and Mauer.
