About this winery

Gernot Heinrich is Burgenland's most celebrated red wine producer, farming the flat plains around Lake Neusiedl where a unique microclimate created by the shallow lake generates the conditions for spectacular Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, and Pinot Noir. His flagship red blend Gabarinza has achieved cult status among Austrian wine collectors. The winery is also a pioneer of sustainable viticulture in the region, with a growing proportion of the estate farmed organically. Visits here give an excellent overview of what Burgenland red wine is capable of at the highest level.
