About this winery

Vienna is one of the world's only capital cities with significant commercial vineyards operating within its boundaries, and Mayer am Pfarrplatz is its most storied producer. Located in a historic building in Grinzing that once housed Beethoven — who allegedly composed part of the Ninth Symphony here — the estate produces genuine Viennese Grüner Veltliner and Riesling from city-limit vineyards. The traditional Heuriger wine tavern is a Vienna institution, drawing locals and visitors alike for the classic Austrian combination of open-faced sandwiches, cold platters, and young local wine. An experience unlike any other in the European wine world.
