About Ossian Vides y Vinos
Ossian is built entirely around ungrafted, pre-phylloxera Verdejo vines more than 150 years old, planted around Nieva in the province of Segovia. Founded in 2005 by grower Ismael Gozalo and Javier Zaccagnini, it makes some of the most singular white wine in the Rueda DO. Visits are by appointment given the winery's small scale.
Visitors single out pre-phylloxera verdejo, barrel-aged white, segovia old vines. The wines to look for are Verdejo. The estate dates from 2005.
Visiting
Appointment only. Rueda and the surrounding villages are about an hour and 40 minutes from Madrid on the A-6 and A-51, roughly the same distance as Ribera del Duero but reached from the northwest side of the city.
