The northernmost winery in the Yadkin Valley produces a diverse lineup of dry, semi-dry, semi-sweet and sweet wines, as well as a line of craft beers.
Round Peak Vineyards is located a few miles outside Mount Airy in a picturesque setting framed by the Blue Ridge Mountains. Round Peak produces a number of award-winning French and Italian wines and is one of only two NC wineries growing the coveted Nebbiolo grape. The tasting room includes a large covered back patio with seating area, mountain views and occasional live entertainment. Round Peak has two rental cabins in the vineyards. Round Peak's dry and semi-dry wines are produced under the Round Peak label, while its line of semi-sweet and sweet wines are produced under the Skull Camp label. The winery also offers a line of Skull Camp craft beers from its sister brewery in nearby Elkin.

We visited the winery this past weekend and the view was lovely. I was surprised by the cost of the wine tasting. Upon further review of wineries in the area this one is the most expensive. The wines were just ok, but we spent a lot of money. Won’t be back too many wineries to choose from without being so costly.
