In the heart of Paso Robles, Libretto is an intimate live performance concert venue considered by many as one of the go-to music spots on the California coast. “Paso Robles has been put on the map with world class wines, Michelin star restaurants and now Grammy award winning musicians at Libretto,” remarks Corey Jordan, Co-Founder and Co-Owner. The centerpiece of the venue is a 2012 Steinway & Sons Model D, a 9’ full concert grand that has been regarded by its players as one of the best pianos in the world. Jordan continues. “Being a kid from Paso Robles, this is the type of experience I moved away to find – the Opera in Paris or the Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, for example. Those experiences have now been brought back home to Paso Robles in a very unique and intimate way. Libretto is a representation of the continued progress Paso Robles is making in the cultural arts and captures the integrity of this community while presenting world class experiences every weekend.”

California Coast Beer Company

1346 Railroad St, Paso Robles, CA 93446

Why should someone stop by Cal Coast Brewing after a day of wine tasting? Rich Clayton, owner of Cal Coast, explains. “It’s bigger than beer. Cal Coast Beer Company is a place where everyone in your party will find something they enjoy. We restored a 1950’s auto garage just blocks from the famous downtown Paso Robles Park. Here you will find craft beer, cocktails, local wines, wood fired BBQ and live entertainment weekly. We have 3 separate buildings that offer three distinct vibes on our Cal Coast Campus. The brewhouse holds our production facility and is home to beer club parties, Nashville concerts and community fundraisers. The Den (a play on a bear den and the den from the 1970’s), our 70’s inspired lounge, hosts bingo nights, trivia, live music duos and themed parties. Patina, our event space, hosts private parties and ticketed events like dueling pianos, live athletic events and comedy shows.  Our vibe, live entertainment, expansive outdoor area and proximity to the downtown park make Cal Coast Beer a must stop when the wineries close.” Or even before.

Eleven Twenty-Two Speakeasy & Cocktail Lounge

A fantastic after-dark experience, stop by Eleven Twenty-Two in Paso. Image courtesy Eleven Twenty-Two.

A throwback to the speakeasy days of Paso Robles is Eleven Twenty-Two Cocktail Lounge with a Great Gatsby vibe of the 1930s. The speakeasy is tucked alongside the back patio of Pappy McGregor’s, a casual eatery, on 13th Street. Once inside Pappy’s, guests must walk through the restaurant, exit out the rear patio, turn left, and press the doorbell only once. Wait for a hostess to answer the door to admit you to this intimate, exclusive lounge and enjoy. Stephanie Barker, local resident, can’t wait to return. “We stood in line and the hostess let only a small number of people inside, so the lounge is very exclusive with only 30 guests. Music was played, the lighting was dim and conversation was hushed. Waiters stopped by our booth with a glass cart of cocktails and took our drink order. The room is intimate so the bar is close and we could see the bartender make unique cocktails with shakers, torches and interesting ingredients. This is a real find right here in Paso Robles,” Barker added.

Sensorio Paso Robles

Light at Sensorio offers a walk-through sensory experience within acres and acres of vineyards and brilliant views like no other. It features four light installations by internationally acclaimed artist Bruce Munro. Field of Light is a multi-acre walking experience that recently expanded to more than 100,000 stemmed spheres lit by fiber optics, “illuminating the landscape in subtle blooms of color” that reflect the gently rolling landscape. Light Towers installation is a celebration of Paso Robles’ wine country and features 69 towers of more than 17,000 wine bottles illuminated with glowing fiber optics moving to music. Gone Fishing and Fireflies, the newest exhibits, are found in a small valley next to Light Towers. Solar powered, they “invite visitors to engage with the landscape and environment through an ethereal light based and sculptural experience.” It’s no surprise that The New York Times deemed Light at Sensorio as #6 in their list of “52 Places to Visit in 2020.”
