We pride ourselves in small batch production featuring classic, European-style wines made from locally grown grapes. What does small batch mean and why is it important? Our total annual production is less than other wineries’ production of one variety. It’s like cooking dinner for 5 people versus 500. Our limited production allows us to pay close attention to quality and flavor. Our level of detail and care can be tasted in each bottle.

Large vehicles are welcome, but need to be coordinated with our staff ahead of time. Party buses/coach buses, limos and other large vehicles can get stuck if they drive in the grass. We work with several local tour companies whose drivers are familiar with our grounds. If your driver is not familiar with our winery, please have them call us ahead of time (269-422-1100) to coordinate a parking plan.

Tasting

Try 5 wines from Hickory Creek.

Group tastings are one of our favorite aspects of the Hickory Creek Winery experience. From spring to fall, groups fill our vineyard and winery grounds with reverie, laughter and excitement. Our location is the perfect place to get away from it all with your friends, family, co-workers. Whether it's a couples' weekend wine tour, a corporate retreat, celebrating a friend's upcoming wedding, or maybe just a girls' weekend -- let us be a part of your wine country adventure.

Our group tasting fee is $8 per person, payable after the tasting appointment is complete. It can be paid collectively or individually. For groups of 8 or more, we require a $20 reservation fee paid in advance to book your spot, which normally takes place via credit card transaction that we can process over the phone. The reservation fee is refundable toward the purchase of any wine bottles from our tasting room on the day of your tasting. If plans change after the fee has been paid, call and we will process a full refund up to 72 hours before your appointment.

Tours

We typically host groups in our barrel room. You'll get a behind the scenes look at the winemaking process and get up close and personal with the oak barrels and stainless steel tanks that age our wines. Your group will get a dedicated tasting consultant who will lead your group through a pre-selected menu of 5 wines that give a you a feel for styles of wines we craft on the site. While subject to change, we usually feature 2 white wines, 2 red wines and a rosé.

It can be chilly in our barrel room, particularly in the winter, early spring and late fall. Plan for the tour and tasting to take around 45 minutes. If you are running late, please call us and let us know. We want you to have fun and to learn something, so ask questions. We are not wine snobs -- at all. This is your time to learn and maybe even step outside of your palate's comfort zone. Have fun with it.

Tasting Price: $8 per person.
